Biography

Julia Thiele-Schürhoff was born in Germany in 1971 and studied law at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.

A fully qualified lawyer, she has occupied various roles within the Knorr-Bremse Group since 2002, working in departments such as Corporate Law, Sales & Marketing and Corporate Human Resources. Between 2008 and 2014, Julia Thiele-Schürhoff built up and managed the Group's Sustainability unit. She remains an advisory member of the CR Council for Corporate Sustainability to this day.

Julia Thiele-Schürhoff also founded the non-profit association Knorr-Bremse Global Care e. V., which she had chaired for more than 20 years. In 2026, she transitioned to the organization’s Advisory Board, where she assumed the role of Chair.

She has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG since 2016.

Julia Thiele-Schürhoff has also been a member of the Management Board of the Heinz Hermann Thiele Family Foundation since April 2023.
