Biography
Karsten Arndt was born in 1964 in what is now the federal state of Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania, Germany. Between 1981 and 1984, he completed vocational training as an industrial electronics technician at the former Semiconductor Plant in Frankfurt (Oder).
Karsten Arndt began his professional career in 1984 as a remote control technician at the Mineral Oil Pipeline Association (MVL). In 1988, he moved to Kabelwerk Oberspree (KWO), where he worked until 1998 as a mechanic in operations as well as in measurement, control and process engineering.
In 1998, Karsten Arndt joined Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH in Berlin as a shift electrician. In 2019, he moved within the company to the Continuous Improvement (CIP) workshop. Alongside his professional activities, he completed a part-time distance-learning programme from 1999 to 2003, qualifying as a Certified Industrial Foreman in Electrical Engineering (IHK).
Karsten Arndt has been a member of the Works Council of Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH in Berlin since 2018. In 2022, he assumed the role of Chairman of the Works Council and has been fully released for this position since then.
In April 2026, Karsten Arndt was elected to the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG.
