Over 3,500 guests, beaming faces, and an unforgettable summer day: To mark its 120th anniversary, Knorr-Bremse hosted a very special event at its corporate headquarters in Munich. Employees from across all areas of the company came together with their families to celebrate this remarkable milestone in the company’s history.
120 Years, A Reason to Celebrate – A Day for the Knorr-Bremse Family
Smiling children with brightly painted faces, grown men bouncing around in the inflatable castle, and families enjoying their third ride on the Ferris wheel – everyone had a great time. A cool summer drink at the beach bar, a "Trucker Burger" from the food truck, French fries and plenty of ice cream in sunny 25-degree weather – it was a party for everyone, with many moments of joy, togetherness, and shared memories.
Children's Laughter, Ice Cream, and Hands-On Activities – Carefree Fun for the Whole Family
There was plenty for the little guests to discover: a carousel, face painting, football darts, a real excavator to operate, and trucks to climb into – all these attractions brought wide eyes and cheerful energy.
Experiencing Technology – Insights into Innovation and Cyber Security
Tech enthusiasts had the chance to visit the company museum and the Research & Development Center, where they could explore Knorr-Bremse’s product world and experience technological innovation up close. In the Cyber Truck, visitors took part in live simulations of realistic cyber-attack scenarios – phishing emails, tampered USB sticks, social engineering – all under real-time pressure, guided by an experienced ethical hacker.
Ferris Wheel Views and DJ Vibes – Entertainment for Every Generation
One of the highlights was the Ferris wheel, offering a sweeping view over the company grounds and even to the Alps. Clown performances, stilt walkers, live music acts, a company quiz, and not least the DJs at the beach bar provided top-notch entertainment – and in the midst of it all: time for encounters and conversation.
Personal Words with Vision – The Official Ceremony
The official part of the event brought emotional moments as well: In personal speeches, Dr. Reinhard Ploss (Chairman of the Supervisory Board), Marc Llistosella (CEO), Julia Thiele-Schürhoff (Chair of the Heinz Hermann Thiele Family Foundation), and Andrea Geiger (Chair of the Group Works Council) looked back on the company's 120-year history and shared their thoughts on the road ahead.
