Wolfgang Nirschl*

Wolfgang Nirschl was born in Munich in 1977. In 1995, he completed an apprenticeship as a CNC machine operator at ZF Friedrichshafen AG in Passau. In 2002, he was elected to the Works Council of ZF Friedrichshafen AG in Passau. From 2009, Wolfgang Nirschl was Deputy Chair of the Works Council and worked as an exempted Works Council member. He was also a member of the Group Works Council and European Works Council of ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

Wolfgang Nirschl acquired various professional qualifications in labor and collective bargaining law while he was a Works Council member. Between 2012 and 2014, he also trained as a project and process consultant.

Since September 2016, Wolfgang Nirschl has been employed by IG Metall Passau, working as Managing Director and Second Authorized Representative since 2020.

He is also an honorary labor court judge at the Passau Labor Court.
