Werner Ratzisberger*

Biography

Werner Ratzisberger was born in Germany in 1967. He started his apprenticeship as a lathe operator (equivalent to a machinist) at Knorr-Bremse in 1983, qualifying in 1986. As an employee of Knorr-Bremse Commercial Vehicle Systems, Mr. Ratzisberger worked in the company’s machining center in Aldersbach from 1986 to 1998. After completing a further training course as an engineering technician between 1995 and 1998, he continued to work in Aldersbach as an industrial engineer until 2006. From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Ratzisberger chaired the company’s Works Council in Aldersbach, moving to Munich in 2010, where he continued to work for the Commercial Vehicle Systems division until the end of 2021 as a project engineer specializing in machined surface finishing. Starting in 2019, Mr. Ratzisberger was partially released from his work commitments to fulfil his duties as a member of the Works Council of Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH in Munich; since 2022, he has worked in this position full-time.

Mr. Ratzisberger was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG in 2006.
